Presentation of the Culture and Art Project “Port of Dreamers” will be held on Sunday, December 16 at 5 pm at the Festival Palace. After project presentation, lectures will have anthropologist Romana Pozniak about migration and asylum in the context of contemporary society and director of JRS service in South East Europe, Tvrtko Barun on “Migrants – people crucify between politics and their own lust for better tomorrow”. The entrance is free.
Ph.D. student of ethnology and cultural anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences University of Zagreb and one of the founders of a social cooperative “Taste of Home” whose goal is the integration of refugees. She worked as a coordinator at the Winter Reception-Transit Centre in Slavonski Brod and later for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) organizing the support for unaccompanied children and integration of young migrants. In the first part of her lecture,she will address the analysis of refugees and migration focusing on concrete examples, legal mechanisms and restrictive practices towards refugees and asylum seekers, while the second part of the lecture will be theoretical and conceptual overview of phenomena illegal migration and refugees phenomena.

Port of Dreamers is a two-year project co-funded by the European Union through the programme Creative Europe – Culture Sub-programme with the financial support given by Croatian Ministry of Culture. Project is Dubrovnik Summer Festival as lead partner together with Kulturanova- a civil society organization from Novi Sad, and the Slovenian National Theater Maribor will deal with the history of migrations on the European continent, which will serve as an inspiration for artists.
